SOJOURN suggests a destination of deliverance and redemption.
We embrace renewed life as we journey together in the grace of Jesus.

Sunday Nights Youth at 5:30 - 7pm!

On Sunday nights at Sojourn come and hang out, have fun, play dodgeball, and talk with others about who Jesus is in the history of the world and what to do with him!

Sojourn Youth Rules of Conduct

Sojourn welcomes you to youth group and! Everything at youth group is free and a service from us here at Sojourn to the community around us. We intend to provide fun, food and facts to enable you as youth to decide what you will do with Jesus. In order to provide you this service and to ensure safety, we must ask that you respect and adhere to the following rules. The leaders of Sojourn youth reserve the right to ask anyone person caught violating the rules of conduct to leave the premises. In the event someone is asked to leave, they will excitedly be welcomed back the following Sunday.
Thank you!

1. If you’re in, you’re in. If you’re out, you’re out.

Please do not come and go during youth. We want everyone to experience each minute, of the fun, food and facts. There is no way to know what you will be missing but if you leave and then return we do not have time allotted to repeat all that happened in your absence. Overall, coming and going is distracting to the leaders and other youth alike.

2. If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all.

Youth group is a place where all people can feel accepted. After all, God does not discriminate. Every person of all different backgrounds, friends and strangers should feel comfortable and welcome in the youth setting. The leaders will not allow someone to verbally abuse you and we do not expect you to verbally abuse anyone else.

3. This is a refuge, please treat it as such.

Refuge is defined as “shelter or protection from danger or trouble”. Rule 2 and 3 go hand in hand. We promise to provide a refuge to every youth entering our doors. In order for us to provide this refuge (a place where you are free from danger or trouble), we must ask for your cooperation in providing a refuge for your fellow youth. Please do not instigate danger or trouble with other youth. Also if there is trouble or danger the leadership expect you to report it to us immediately. Please do not attempt to handle a situation yourself where someone is being threatened with danger or trouble. Also to maintain the refuge we ask you treat the shelter itself with respect. This is your hangout refuge, take pride in it! Treat others and this building with respect.

4. No Drama!

This is not the Jerry Springer show, it is youth group. We realize that friends and siblings and even strangers often get into arguments and altercations. However as we attempt to build a refuge for everyone in attendance, we ask that you check the drama at the door. Let youth group be your refuge and focus only on fun, food and facts.

5. Take all you want but eat all you take!

We will always have food of some sort available at our gatherings. Pizza does not grow on trees, the food is provided as a service to all of you in attendance. We are fortunate as the Sojourn Youth that the people of the church realize teenagers are hungry and help to provide food for your belly. Please do not take it for granted and please do not be greedy. Give everybody equal opportunity for food. We invite you to eat until all the food is gone but we also ask that you eat everything you take. If your family is in need of food at home, please inform one of the youth leaders and we as Sojourn will do our best to provide you nourishment.

5th Sunday was great! width=

5th Sunday was great!

On the fifth Sunday of this month, you won't find us in a building . This is a step for us to help keep our perspective off ourselves and on our community. We meet at our regular time (10:30) at the church and then break off into groups that head off around the city of Evansville to help make a difference. We only have a couple of rules about this experiment: 1. You can't sleep in and count it as a day off. (sorry) 2. You can't give your offering to the church. (find someone to bless)

Our children are active!

Unfortunately, we don’t have a real good “techie” among all the children’s leaders that can update all that our children are doing.  We need to collect pictures and get those posted.  They have been bowling and had events and the Sunday school teachers have been awesome in their teaching, prayer, and care for our children!  They are [...]

Thursday nights are now Thursday and Friday nights!

We are a unique blend of people who journey, love, serve and learn together to become more like Jesus. We have a Thursday night group at 6:30 and Friday nights at 7:30. We share some food stuff-of-life conversation when we come together. Each group establishes its own “rhythm” for their experience together. Contact Matt (matt@thesojourn.org) or Kevin (kevin.schuble@gmail.com) or Clint (mmajors5680@yahoo.com).

The “The Crooked Halos” are meeting Saturdays. Food and Childcare are available, but give them a heads up. Keep an “ear to the ground” and/or talk to Billy and Vicki (573-3471)if you have a request/suggestion.  They have been, and want to continue to be, open for kids, fun, and food.
